I have not much idea of this knife, but I'd like to try and find out. If anyone can inform me as much as possible, feel free to message me or reply to this thread . It has a certificate of authenticity included and looks to be very old. I've provided pictures below . thanks !

To my untrained eye, it looks as though the knife and the paperwork don't exactly match up. The picture and description on the certificate describe a different knife.

Cool looking knife regardless.

I have one just like it only with stag handle scales,,, no box or papers!,,, sorry!,,,, got it maybe around 1985 or so? Can't remember? Very nice knife,,,, very good saw blade tapered so it doesn't bind in the cut.

P.S.,,,it is an eye Brand , not a case!!!!!!! Dealer I got it from still has the same glass display case I got it out of with Eye Brand knives in it but that one was discontinued probably in late 80's or early 90's??? Not really sure!???

Well I'm not familiar with knives at all so I wouldn't have known the certificate was for a completely different blade. Thanks for the help and responses you all !

The person I got it from must have been under the impression it belonged to the eye brand pocket knife. Glad that's been brought to my attention .

Most certainly an "Eye Brand" Solingen german steel. Not one of the stainless offerings, either, by the looks of the rust. Most certainly has nothing to do with Case knives. It is called a "sodbuster", and yours has the saw blade with it, obviously. The carbon steel is very similar to the case CV (chrome vanadium) carbon steel. It is basically W2. Their knives are thin and they are heat treated very well. Some of the most popular knives in West Texas where I grew up.
I have an Eye brand sodbuster that is identical, but without the saw, and it is a great knife.

Thank you . so are you saying carbon steel is a good material for the blade to be made out of compared to others , or even stainless ?
