Eye candy: Carson Tech EVO

Nice looking knife. A bit over priced, though. I would love to see them making some cheaper and less extravagant models with a US distributor. I like their designs, and they can be a big hit here.

I had my eye on their limited edition EVO in s90v.

TheS90v is the one I have been lusting after since I read about it on Waterbeefs original thread. I want it at least $300 cheaper before I would buy it.

just saw this thread, I'm considering buying one of these knives and I'm very excited.
The integral frame backspacer is a really cool feature (like what Strider does with G10 but on the lock-side and in Titanium). Plus I like the idea a lot of the button attached to the frame which allows the user to open and close the knife as a traditional frame lock and/or a button lock. Very cool, outside the box thinking.
How's the action on the folder? Is there any play to it? Is she smooth?
Thanks so much,
Justin

lafferjc,

The action on this knife is extremely smooth. I have a bunch of high end knives and can wiggle at least a tiny bit of play out of all of them, but not the EVO, no matter how hard I try. Also, I really love the button lock, and find I much prefer it to unlocking the frame lock. I should add though that it is really hard to disengage the frame lock itself on this knife. It is so thick and strong it takes two hands for me, although I may just be weak. It is extremely easy to disengage the lock via the button though, and I think this knife is meant to be closed using the button lock.

Altogether I highly recommend this knife. It is awesome and oozes quality. I've had the opportunity to use it quite a bit now and the steel have performed nicely. I've compared it to the CPM 154 on my Strider SNG and it has been comparable. Love this knife. I will keep updating as I use it.

Absolutely beautiful knives to be sure. Way above my price range, but I can still drool over the pics. :D Thanks for posting these, jstn.:cool:
