Eye Candy for the weekend

Now THAT looks like Off Duty trading fodder to me! :) ;)

Perhaps 3 OD's, but even then I doubt it. Wish I had a digi cam to show some pics, but I don't and can't. In fact, DN has more pics of this thing than I do! LOL

In fact, it's still a user. The designer/first owner used it and sold it to me on that condition, that I use it. Boy, you beat up on a $1500 1 off, you can beat up on about anything. No safe queen here.

The OAL is 15", the blade length is 9 1/2 tip to micarta and the cutting edge a little over 8 1/4". The satin finish is gone, replace with a bead blast. BEHEMOTH is still faintly visable on the right side of the blade.

The outstanding thing about this knife is not it's size, but rather it's design features. It was designed as a 'mountain man' knife. The strong upsweep of the tip for skinning, the hump on the spine for breaking bones and, jam the tip into a block of wood and the slight recurve becomes a draw knife. It's also one helluva chopper. I can attest to that.

It's really an amazing knife, but Jerry said he wouldn't do another one because of the grinding involved. What to do if I ever break this 'delicate' beauty? LOL

Thank you Rob I never noticed how it was a multi-purpose blade. A very interesting design. Mr. Busse's answer to the Dave Beck WSK.

Not hardly Peter. It was a customer submitted and commissioned design. It looks far mor useful than the WSK if you ask me.

I agree with you completely. I just meant that they are both knives designed to do a multitude of tasks from a single blade.

Plus, in my humble opinion, the WSK looks too passive for my taste.

why did the original owner sell it in the first place?

A serious reversal of fortune, which we all have experienced or probably will. I know I have.

Peter, it wasn't designed to do a 'multitude' of tasks but rather a few basic ones that you would need in the wild. Dressing game, shelter building and fire. From my limited use it would seem to work quite well at all although I haven't skinned anything yet. Give me some time on that one. LOL

I was thinking of pairing this with an AS for the perfect big/little combo, but now, I think the SK would be a better match. Love that little blade.

Ain't that the truth!? And usually it's not a small smack down, but from the highest high to the lowest low, multiple smacks.

Then it's either suck on a .45 or start clawing your way back up. I keep clawing, don't want to leave my wife with the mess of the other option. Plus, I still want to see if the folder will EVER arrive! ROFL !!!!!!

And a lot of them are sayin "Who is Dark Nemesis??"

Even WE don't know the answer to that.

Didn't Mike buy a house and fall into a money pit? He used to be THE source for fat INFI. There is a sterile HOFSHLE out there that I got from him. I traded it away this summer. He also accumulated Off Duties.
