EZedge has anyone used one of these?

That's a cool device. I think I would drill some stop pin holes along the edges of the top radius so I would have better grinding control without fighting the drag of the belt against the metal.
 
look at Wayne Goddards $50 knife shop book. He essentially does the same thing with a block of wood (or micarta) attached to a platen. Same thing could be done with the flat sander mentioned. Might save your self some money....

Thanks for the idea! I was thinking of picking up that book but I've heard good and bad things about it. The EZedge costs only $16.95 so it's really not that much money I'd just need to get the belt sander also.
