Fällkniven Kitchen Knives

I love my Whales (the Fallkniven kitchen knives). Really cute boxes they come in as well.

FNG -- am really impressed at the smooth way you managed to begin your post with putdown. An uncommon method of supportiveness. Will have to work on it, see if I can't get smooth too.

Copfish -- for the h*ll of it, ran a search for "kitchen cutlery" on 1blink. Only went thru top ten in first 2 engines. No luck. I'll try Google maybe, and even Nordic knives. I think that the Fallkniven are maybe just too new. I also tend to think that the prices of Fallkniven knives may well be surprising, even shocking to customers handling them for the first time. While of course not everyone loves them, the vast majority of threads I've read make their quality sound outstanding, and the knife designs to be superlative. I don't know why more merchants don't stock them.

Sergius -- nice REVIEW. You used the knives for their intended purposes, and told us what the results were. That sure fits my definition of review. I do tend to think that the "first impressions" we often read may approach advertisements to a degree, but still enjoy them, because of the considerable enthusiasm usually spilling all over the place. Keep up the good reviews, please.

One thing -- cultural -- but if you're not aware of it, carp is eaten by certain ethnic groups in the US, but tends otherwise not to be thought of as an "eating" fish. I'm very interested to discover that it is apparently perceived as a delicacy, or at least a food for major celebrations. I, for one, would be happy to see any other little cultural insights about Poland that you might be able to toss into one of your reviews sometimes.

Thanks,

Bugs,
Thanks for kind words

Yes, carps are the must-be part of Polish Christmas Eve Supper. Honestly I'm not too hot carp lover certainly preferring sea fish with their more pronounced taste, salmon for ex.

Well, one of the most common Polish habits is to grumble in all situations and conditions. When two friends are meeting it is almost in bad taste to do not say: "All is bad and government is sh*t worth!"
So meeting my American friends at IWA International Trade Show (Nuremberg, Germany) three weeks ago I answered their traditional greeting: "Hello Serg, how are you?" in traditional Polish taste: "Thanks, terribly!"

The non-specific answer here is that you'll find them with those who carry the rest of the Fällkniven knives, not with those who specialises in kitchen knives.

Griffon,

Blue Ridge is the official US distributor of this line and, in the past they did not stock and would not order the complete Fallkniven line. They currently do not list the kitchen knives in their dealer catalog (at least the one I have). Since they did have them on display at the Shot Show in New Orleans, I'm assuming they are available now however.

I do agree with you, that mass market department store chains and kitchen specialty shops probably won't stock these or know how to order them. I will be checking availability on them next week.

Stay Sharp,
Sid
