Alan,

This piece was triangular and about 2 inches thick. Looks like burl on the face and a sinewave on edge if that makes sense. Still want to give you that CF. Guess I'll have to mail it.

The shoot sounds like a ton of fun Mark, wish more stuff like that took place around here. Better take more than your oilstone if everyone is bringin you knives to sharpen

I'll be spending tonight and tommorrow morning helping fix up the announcer stand for the 4H horse arena at the county fairgrounds. Needs 2 new doors, and about 4 sheets of siding replaced.
Then tommorrow (saturday) afternoon/night I'll be at a party/drinking contest.......no no this is not the type of contest you boys are thinkin of! The challenge is that its impossible to drink a gallon of milk in less than an hour :D I see myself being very very sick, and then if it is possible its down to who does it the fastest. So even if I win, I doubt I'll feel like celebrating. WTF am I thinking? Couldn't tell ya, but we got about a dozen participants so it should be fun....least for a while.

Hoping to get a about a hundred rounds through my new (first) pistol sometime this weekend. Probably Sunday afternoon. Picked up a brand new Taurus PT92 (9mm, M9 service pistol/copy of Beretta 92) shortly after my birthday on the 16th. Have shot it, but only to knock off the racoons and possums I've been trapping. Looking forward to wring it out on a target. Would have rather had a .45 auto of some sort but I can't afford the ammo.

Oh yeah, I got one knife to finish and two more on order, and I have to get the details worked out for starting my new job monday. I doubt I get everything done :grumpy:

 I am getting very old..................

Well, I have been puting up pegboard in one of my shops today. There is just too much stuff and tools to lay anywhere and then find it again without an Easter egg hunt for the tool I just laid down. Y'all know what I'm saying, I bet. I always have my 3 day weekend, working my Mon.-Thurs. 10 hr. night patrols. So, I'm gonna try to s-n-e-a-k out early tomorrow morning and snipe a few squirrels while it's still cool. Then, clean squirrels and back to the shop. Oh, yeah, IG, you have a standing invitation for fried squirrel and gravy dinner. No tie required, you will be in Indian country. Sunday, perhaps grind some knuckles.

Well, I've always heard that if you're gonna drink heavy, have a glass of milk first. So, I wonder if you have a glass of whiskey first if the milk will bother ya.... ;)

That sounds like a great idea ....if I could just hold me liquor :D Don't wanna be pukin beofre the contest even starts

You are a bad influence John. I'll be having tree rat for dinner tonight thank you....sure is a pretty day for it! ;)

Don, that's cool to hear someone else call 'em "tree rats". Doesn't seem to be a commonly understood appellation hereabouts!

I remember as a kid we'd spit 'em and bbq 'em whole, and the final treat would be to crack the head and suck the grey matter out like you were eating a crawdad..... yum city, though I suspect this'll make some less barbaric reader gag.....

Shindig at the hunt club was a blast. I shot in 3 shotgun events and won twice, a turkey and a ham was brought home by the mighty mongrel hunter. Lots of nice people. They had a LOT of children there and Deb made the observation of how well behaved they all were. I pointed out two little boys in camo. One was about 3, the other about 5 was showing the 3 year old how to line up the sights on the BB gun to hit the target. Within 15 minutes the 3 year old was plinking soda cans from 30 ft. I said to Deb "That" is why these children are so well behaved. They have been taught how to behave around firearms. Did my heart good and made me feel that there is hope for the future of this country if we spend the time to teach the kids.
Nobody brought their knives so I didnt have to do any sharpening, but still met about 50 super couples. Thinking about joining the club just to have access to such a nice place.

That sounds great Mark, glad to hear that the kids are gettin started off so well too. I think thats one of the most important parts of proecting our 2nd amendment rights. Not to mention all the other horseshit we could prevent if more kids were raised that way. Sounds like your OK with a scattergun too :)

My little competition didn't go so well. At this point in time we think it might really be impossible to drink a gallon of milk in an hour. I won, by drinking about 7/8's of a gallon without puking, but it was not pleasant. My stomach made noises I've never heard before. I hammered the first half gallon in 3 minutes and was feeling really good. Then we started playing poker and I tried to set a steady pace to finish but stalled out around 45 minutes. :grumpy:
If we try again it will not be for a LONG time :D
