Also Selling my Bugei Shobu Zukuri Tanto. It is in Excellent Condition and has been stored oiled.
Blade: Swedish powdered steel
Handle: Full tang, Ray Skin and Wrapped.
Fittings Misc, Brass and Iron.
Asking $300.00

Hadori, i believe that is the Shobu, at least thats what i ordered. Maybe they sent me the samurai Tanto by mistake. either way, your right, it is an amazing price for a beautiful knife. thanks again.

Yes I am sure it is hira zukuri because of flat blade . shobu has ridgeline /shinogi . Can you tell me about forging of steel ? It appeared to have fold lines but I thought that was pixalation by camera ? how long is cutting edge ? What is blade thickness? I am interested in knife .what kind of tsuka material ie: tsukamakie , is samekawa authentic ? what is ito cord made from silk /cotton how about fittings material ?. sorry I ask a lot of questions regards .... That tanto is definately not the shobu tanto; I used to own the shobu one. The one you have appears to be the Samurai Model seen here,

Actually, the retail on the Samurai model is higher than the shobu so I guess you got a good deal hehe. Very nice blade, I like Bugei's products.

And yes the steel is folded. The handle wrap (tsukamakie)is cotton, with rayskin (samekawa) underneath and the cuttin edge is 10". 1/4" thick blade. Fittings are made of Black Iron and Bronze. This is a very beautiful knife that is made for hard use. Thanks for the questions.
