Hey guys!
This knife was meant to be listed last week but im really short on time so hope you appreciate it.
This knife is VERY rich in details, i tried my best covering that on pictures.
DISCLAIMER: The wood used on this build was GUATAMBU and NOT oak. Guatambu is much more resistant, dense (has 0,8g/cm³ of density) and overall takes a much better charred finish on it.

How do i describe this knife:
As my favorite style, i love to play with forge finish damascus. This one specifically i hand forged the bevels in order to keep the forge finish flats after grinding. It has a new very promising grind im using on my knives that is a really smooth hollow grind with a tiny convex near the edge (after reducing it to almost zero in the hollow grind).
This knife was initially meant to be used with exotic materials, but then i realized that this would be the most obvious situation and a bit boring, so instead i went after making it look fabulous using only techniques on a very simple material. While guatambu is a extremely resistant and tough wood, it is not exotic and rare, but taking it to a nice shou sugi ban finish is somehow exotic.
Shou sugi ban is a japanese technique of burning the woods surface, it is quite benefitial to kitchen knives since the surface of the wood creates a thin layer of char.
This does not make the wood fragile or anything as the finish is really superficial. Shou sugi ban is used for centuries as a preservation technique and is also known as Yakisugi.
The blade is forged out of 1084+15N20 steel, my favorite combination for damascus as both of these alloys are extremely tough and can offer great performance even with a very aggressive grind. Chipping will not be a problem.
It has a workhorse geommetry and tapers really smoothly towards the tip. The knife is 55mm wide at the heel and somehow i managed it to have 230mm and only 238 grams of weight.
With this weight, the blade feels really good and easy to control under use.
Like all my knives, you can count with a perfectly rounded choil and spine for a better experience of use.
This knife was heavily inspired by a whiskey barrel i saw in a local supermarket. The barrel was charred and it looked SO nice i actually tried to buy it to use in photography, unfortunately, they didnt sell me. It may sounds funny but looking at that barrel made me craft this. You know... the magic of whiskey.
Finally, this knife was done to both look beautiful and be used daily. I know most of the customers out there feel guilty to use damascus knives as daily tools, this one will do the trick for you: forge finish and yakisugi finish on a very tough wood. Use this beast daily and make sure to build a nice patina on it. After some years, just scrub some steel wool on the blade and dip in instant coffee and it will look like new.
PRICE: 500$ Shipped + wooden saya AND the luxury red zipped pouch included

The steel pattern on this blade was inspired in a japanese technique known as suminagashi.
Youtube video below of it - my camera isnt good making videos but you can see how beautiful and deep the damascus pattern is.
Have a blessed night everyone. Thanks.
