I really love darker knives and overall dark handle materials such as ebony, bog oak etc.
This being said, i was heavily inspired to craft this knife and saya out of the same piece of wood.
Took me A LOT of time to fit everything in the right dimensions as well properly grinding the bevels of the saya, as its shape is not regular like the handle it was really hard to make the lines clean.
In my opinion its a very classy knife and im really proud and happy to introduce to you.
Sandvik 14C28N (same composition as AEBL) hardened to 61hrc, one of the toughest stainless steel out there, under normal use chipping can be disconsidered.
For those who are skeptical to try stainless, this steel has superior edge retention and toughness than 52100.
Extremely fine grain guaranteed.
Blade has 150mm or almost 6" - thickest part of the spine has 3mm
The blade has both choil and spine rounded and polished - absolute comfort during use.
This knife will DEFINITELY impress you both on its weight, balance and grind. It will feel like literally a natural extension of your body.
It has an interesting mix of a more western blade with a octagonal wa handle which is my favorite shape since it gives a lot of room for your hand in the cutting board as well a good grip even when wet.
It will be delivered ready to use hand sharpened to 2000, as it has a very aggressive grind, it will be easy and fast to resharpen it in the future.
Both handle and saya out of Bahia rosewood - a exotic specie that has around 0,9g/cm³ of density - extremely durable and beautiful.
