faasco induction forced air blower motor

Got one just about like, from a scrapped furnace, that for my forge. Gate valve or damper down the air flow and it works fine. Most of them are 1/30 hp.

an air valve wouldnt cause any back pressure on this unit? whats the ideal range of air pressure and how do you convert that with rpm rating?

backpressure is good

it increases the velocity and the burn will be better :)

mine runs full tilt into a 2 inch gate valve

well now i just need to fiquere out how to make a forgeLOL. it should cost too much for parts.. ill e using propane

That motor is 1/25 HP. It will make an OK blower, but may be a bit weaker than a proper forge blower. Try it and see how it works.

From your posts to date, i would suggest that you do some reading and studying on the entire subject of knife making and HT before you start building any more equipment. While you have lots of enthusiasm, you still have a lot of holes in your understanding. Mistakes can be costly and frustrating, so a little study will help. I would suggest you read all the stickies at the top of this forum, and check out Darren Ellis' site for info on building forges (and the supplies to build them). You are in the right place for learning.
