Fabricated Ivory

Has anyone used Jantz Fabricated Ivory? They say it is fragile until it is on the knife tang, and I was wondering if anyone has used it, and how it worked out. Thanks for any help.

It is not sturdy, but it is pretty.

Really tricky to work with, super brittle until its on. I had a set fit to a slipjoint one time and knew it was brittle. Went to peen one of the scale pins with the knowledge of how brittle in my mind. One little tap, ouch!:grumpy: Real ivory went on the knife!

Thanks guys for the input, I think I will give it a try. It is for a knife in a his and hers set as a wedding gift, hers in Ivory and his in Water Buffalo horn, his will be my Pro Skinner model and hers will be a smaller version of the same knife, reduced by 10%. I will post pics when they are done. Thanks again.
