Factor folding knife

I saw these mentioned here a few weeks ago. Certainly decent designs. Don't kno much of anything about them

There are quite a few Chinese companies stepping up these days. Some of them are making good stuff. Producing flashlights and knives gives me pause, however. It's a bit like ordering steak at a fish restaurant. Perhaps that's not fair, but...I wouldn't jump in with both feet...yet.

Yes knives and lights are two different things, I happen to like both but am very careful with new company's.
one I looked at was $130. Thats steep for me. Still fit-N-finish was very good so were materials.
I was hoping someone with more experience in higher end folders would enlightened me.

Just had a look at them for myself.

I like the idea that they're making the effort to put up and maintain their own website, and I don't see any of the.. ahem.. liberties taken with possessive form and tense in their descriptions.

But. The Absolute looks a lot like an older Surefire folder, and the Iconic looks very much like the Anso/Vox "Giant Mouse" folder.

I realize that form follows function, so there will always be similarities. But this is a little too much "similarity" for me.

Maybe I'm being biased, and it's all in my head. There are companies in China who are taking their own course (WE, Kizer), and doing good things. But there have been many, um, "homages" to other knives, from the same part of the world, and from thousands of miles away, it's easy for me to be cynical.

Yes there are some quality knives beginning to come from China. I remember back in day when Japanese " products " were considered inferior. Makes one think. ;) I still prefer to buy American knives when I can.

The uncanny resemblance is holding me back too.

They look similar to the GM1 but in hand feel different (not nearly as tall), i've put them through the paces and the've held up well so far.

Seneca, thanks for the info & photo.
I see you spend time in Omaha. I checked them out at Omaha knife, been there?

I kindof want to get one but at the same time im scratching my head at how similar they are to the giant mouse knife...

Perhaps this is the folder for those of us who asked for a 3-inch GM1.

I do wish it were 2.99 inches. All those knife makers who opt for 3.1 inches are losing out to consumers who must live with a 3 inch limit. Or who just prefer an under-3-inch edc.
