Factory blade sharpening question

Bump to the top, I saw the cold steel moderator was back around maybe we could possibly get an answer on this?
 
I don't know the answer to that.
I carry an Ultimate Hunter daily and it has the same small unsharpened area before the choil.
I'm not sure why it was chosen to do that on that particular model and I was unaware that the same thing appeared on any other ones.

Op, could you post a photo? I looked at two of my voyagers and a counter point 1 and the only unsharpened area was the actual sharpening notch itself. Maybe it's a defect?
 
1/4 inch? Really? Sometimes I think I m a little ocd about lock up. But this doesn't t bother me. At all. Cold Steel with the up graded steel and fit and finish and overall strength has now joined a few of the Spyderco models as the best bargains on the knife market.
