Jim -- "A rising tide floats all boats" -- The more folks get re-introduced to leather, the more they'll realize that there is life after kydex. More opportunities for all of us who love leather !! Besides, there isn't a factory sheath made that I'm afraid to compete with for quality.
BTW, I really like the looks of the new sheath. For 'Coot users that are going to take it to the field, I'd recommend attaching a lanyard with a good sized knot or piece of bone at the end, and tucking the knot under the belt. Pouches make great sheaths, but this one looks a little short in the throat to hold the knife securely in rough country. Quoth Dennis Miller "I could be wrong"

Heeey, leather on a Swamp Rat !!! Good thinkin' guys !!
"We don' need no stinkin' plastic!!"
(sorry Eric, my evil twin made me do it)
Now, just slowly melt the special combat coating into the leather, and it's ready for dinner -- I mean, Battle. What a great multi-use sheath -- if you don't meet the enemy, you can always enjoy a snack. If you do meet the enemy, invite him to dine with you -- there's plenty. !!
