Factory Credit: Spyderco Broke My Chinese Folder (Opinion not Fact)

Long story short, the knife doesn't work any more. So I have a factory credit of about $194. Originally, I was thinking about getting the small Persian Black Micarta for every day carry. But, since the money is essentially already "spent" I am now thinking of getting a Para Military with the S30V blade. Not the black one.

Thoughts on this knife or does anyone feel strongly that I'd be better served with another knife for EDC?

I'm also thinking a getting a PM. I want a knife to switch up with my Caly3 for my EDC.
Have you looked at the Caly3?

The word on the street is that it's very hard to beat the Caly III as an EDC. The Paramilitary is a fine knife, and so is the Mini Manix, in this size range. Of course, I'm going to go ahead and recommend a Yojimbo, as they're now sadly discontinued.

Just some opinion of my own. I have a S30V Native and it does cut extremely well, but I'm thinking of picking up something a little tougher for a work knife as this S30V seems to chip quite easy (always found AUS8 to be a good balance for a rough-duty folder).

Don't get me wrong, this Native cuts like a laser and I've very curious as to how the edge will hold up in the long run, but I'd hate to try to pry even the lightest of things with it or use it to poke through anything thick or hard.

I faxed over a request for the Para. The Manix seemed a bit heavy, the Military's blade is too long to carry in the city, and I'd like to get my first s30v blade. I don't like the tip down carry but I'll make do.

Thanks for the replies.
