I just bought a Cara Cara that was slightly used by a member of the OTHER forum, but the blade seems dull and could use a nice sharpening. What do i need to do to send it to get it resharpened by Spyderco, and will they still do it for free even though i'm not the original owner?

You coulg probably get a thousans people here to sharpen it for you for free.Just ask, it couldn't hurt. The next step would be to learn how to sharpen, there again, countless people would be glad to help you, myself included.

Thankyou for your offer and it's something I may take up fairly soon if i get a few that need a sharpening. Hit me up with an email if you want regarding your experience and different techniques you have. I have very very little experience in sharpening and have yet to get a Sharpmaker.

I was just wondering about the Spyderco sharpening because I've heard a lot of good things about their razor sharp blades and people rave about it alot so i was trying to see what it's all about.

um, is byrd supported with lifesharp or whatever @ the spyderco Hq?

...I didn't think it was, maybe I'm wrong

i'm in ohio and i can put a scarry sharp edge on your knife for you. send me the knife with shipping and insurance both ways and i'll do it for $3. i have quick turnaround too, usually same day in and out. i use cardboard wheels which work extremely well.

My experience in life and especially with the Spyderco crew is:

Ask nicely, and ya shall recieve :)

Try and write a short email to customerservice@spyderco.com and I am pretty sure they will tell you to send the knife in with a $5 check and you will get back a razor sharp Byrd.

Then again, I strongly advise you to get a Sharpmaker ASAP and try for yourself.... it is, as I just realized again a few minutes ago, amazing how sharp you can get a knife with it. Don't underestimate the sense of achievement you get out of a really sharp blade you managed by yourself! :D
