Factory Second GSO 5.1

I got an order in last Monday, March 14th for a Factory second GSO 5.1 in 20CV. Has anyone else ordered a factory 2nd recently? How long did it take to ship?

I'm only asking because I'm leaving on a camping trip on the 31st and really need this knife in hand before then. I figured 2 weeks lead time was plenty for something that is theoretically in stock and just needs to be assembled & shipped.

I'm not trying to whine and complain or become the squeaky wheel here. Just curious and mildly impatient given how long I've waited to get this order in! :)
 
I don't know, on the Survive! website it states that they won't be listing any knives this Monday so they can get some other knives shipped, I think they are referring to the GSO 4.7.

I bought a 5.1 2nd in 3V with black linen on the March 7 Monday sale and the current status is awaiting fulfillment, it is different steel and probably different handles then yours so wait times could be different but we can hope that they will ship tomorrow since it looks like Survive! is trying to get caught up before listing anymore.
 
I had my 2nd in 1 week exactly.
Don't know if that's average or not?
No options tho...bow divot or Ferrell notch.
 
I purchased a factory 2nd 5.1 in 3V on March 7th that has not shipped. I would guess that they will get to these 2nd orders soon, since the knives are probably already sharpened and were intended to fill pre-orders or pre-sales. They are not doing a Monday sale today so that should help. It will be worth the wait!
 
Mine took a bit over 2 weeks to ship, and I sent a simple 'just checking' message (from the messaging button in my S!K account) and Ellie got back to me in a day. The knife was shipped a few days later. It was 3 weeks, order to receipt. I would think the OP could also make a request and mention the upcoming camping trip.

We'll expect a full review here of how your knife performs on your trip!

I sent them a message via email and using their messaging feature on their site on Friday. I have not heard from them yet, though I didn't expect a response over the weekend. I did let them know about my upcoming trip.


We'll expect a full review here of how your knife performs on your trip!

Given the responses above, it doesn't look like I'll have a knife from them on this trip to review, unfortunately. My fingers are still crossed, but if it's not on it's way by the end of the week, I'll have to get something else.

I will update this thread when/if I hear anything.

Long shot here, but are you anywhere near Denver? I would let you take mine, and trade it out for the new one you receive, when you receive it. I don't want to be shipping things, so if we can do an in person trade, you are welcome to it. I don't know you, but if you are a fan of S!K, you must be legit...

Anyway, let me know. PM me if you like.

Edit to Add - mine is a new in the box CPM-20CV second 5.1, black handles, black kydex.

That's very generous, unfortunately I'm not near Denver, I live in Western Washington. Thank you very much for the offer though!

It does beg the question though, why the hell haven't you used it?!! :P

Ha! Good question. Between getting the flu and a few other things going on, I haven't had the chance. Also, I make grips for knives and pistols, and I partly bought the 5.1 as an exhibition piece to make some grip for. So... I don't have any intention of really putting it to hard use until I can do the grips and get some good pictures. I got behind on some other projects, so it has sat in the box until I can get back around to it. Just one of those things...

We should have those all out this week. We use USPS Priority Mail which is 2-3 day, though Western Washington may even be 1 day. If it ships tomorrow, you will definitely have it by the end of the week (unless USPS has a major screw up, but that doesn't happen often).

Usps hates me and the survive knives I buy....It's the only time 2 day priority takes a week or more...has happened 2 outta 3 this month lol

Good news! Although I must say I'm disappointed that you've responded to this thread, but both my messages have gone unanswered.

Hope to have this beautiful knife in my grubby hands soon!
 
Ellie has mentioned elsewhere that she occasionally answers here because it can reach a wider audience of folks who have the same question.
 
Just got the shipping notification. As long as USPS does their job, (about a 50/50 proposition around these parts) I should have my knife in a couple days!

Shoot, mine should be shipping soon too then, too bad I don't have a camping trip to use it on.
