Factory sharpening?

I agree with the majority here, most factory edges are dreadful. I'm happy if they stopped before making the grinds too uneven and I can fix it up without removing too much steel.

The only exception that really stands out in my memory is the edge that came on my Al Mar Eagle Ultralight. Was crazy sharp, I immediately reached for my loupe. When it was time to touch it up, realized it was hollow ground just at the cutting bevel. The overall edge was flat ground and very thin, combined with a hollow grind apex made for a factory edge beyond reproach. I'm not sure what sort of gear one would need to do that, even powered - I've never seen an edge like that before or since. Cutting edge was only a 32nd or maybe 3/64".
