Fail

Yeah....that's going to have to go back to ZT. They'll get you fixed up right. It sucks that it happened and that you'll be without it while it is being fixed. Better to find out now, though.

They will definitely fix it for you, and will do it quickly. I had a few issues with mine, and they fixed it up right. They got my knife back to me pretty quick also. You got no worries.

Bummer mate, that must suck but as the others have said it should be made right pretty quickly, not a major drama but the nature of the beast.

Its the one thing i really dont like seeing on my folders, the blade stop pin/thumbstud in one, whereby it is simply an interference / press fit pin.

There are two risks and both render the knife useless, the pin falls out like yours has or the fit is to tight and the blade cracks... that said im sure problems are 1:1,000,000.

Travis.

I have no doubt they will fix it. I've had good service from Kershaw /ZT in the past. What bothers me is that the stop pin in blade design has failed on me twice. The first time was a Strider. On the positive side, if I had to use it in an emergency the blade stop in the handle (closed position) will still act as a loose stop when opened, although I doubt it was intentional.

Whoops! Guess i'll wait till the 1st round bugs get worked out!

You do know that the 560's made are already over 1000 and this is the first post I've seen with this issue.

To the OP, I agree that sucks but like you said, they will take care of you.

Happened to this 0350 too. I'm sure ZT will take good care you.

My 0561 also has some lockstud issue :( Would this affect to locking performance?

That's how mine looked then I tried to press it over with my thumb and it fell out.

OK, Then i won't try that way :grumpy:

edit; I tried to press the stud hardly, both by thumb and with some wrench, the stud seems to stuffed very tight.

If your paying $300 for a knife ,there shouldn't be any thumbstuds 'falling' out anywhere, and I have a 0561 on the way-I trust that zt will make it right

And not every 560/1 owner belongs to BF... And looks like more have come out of woodwork. Enough for me to be glad i didn't rush in, possibly overpay, and have opening night jitters... I agree that ZT cust serv is top notch, but maybe 1st batch rush QC wasn't.

Wonder if rate of expansion of the blade is much more than the stud i.e. warm blade in pocket. Those with loose studs should put the knife in the fridge or freezer for a bit and see if it tightens up...

IMO even 1000$+ folder could also have some issue. But the point is will the manufacturer capably fix it?

Let's not rush to general conclusions or judgements on the 056X's or us as an organization over a couple knife specific press fit issues, that is unless you're just looking to make more out of random isolated incidents than necessary. If so, carry on.

It's not a flaw or bad qc, its just customizable for those who like the spydie hole. Just can't please some people. ;)

Eh, stuff happens.

Send it in, get it fixed, and move on. No big.

It sucks yeah, but my wife bought a brand new car once that would fill up with water when it rained, kid you not. Sent it in for repair, 7 times, when we finally took it back to the dealer, it rained that night, and the next day they called us and asked why we filled it with water first? WTF.

They'll fix it. The first time, I'm sure.
