Setting those traps can be the toughest part. Kudos for giving it a try! the reason I like the split stick so much is I find it easier to set that the fig 4.
 
What Riley said. And since I noticed that you live in California, be generous to yourself and pick up Survival Skills of Native California. This book is excellent - worth every cent, even if you don't live in California.

While inserting the link, I noticed the price - boy, you guys in the U.S. have it made. I paid $50+ for it - still worth it, though.

Thanks, Doc. It looks interesting. I just added it to my shopping cart. I'm a sucker for books, anyway, especially on primitive living skills. That it's germane to my area just makes it better (it's not making my meager bank account better though).
