Failed Experiment: Native Lightweight to Native Titanium Blade Swap

Just ordered a Native 5 LW s110v. Going to do the swap into my Native 5 fluted Ti this week. I will post pictures and my experience. Before I get started anything specific I need to do to get the pivot out? I heard spyrderco uses red locktite.

Not really other than it didn't work for me. Mine didn't have red loctite on them.

The tolerances and luck make all the difference. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. I put an M4 blade into an FRN handle and it's better than it was in the G10 handle that it came out of. Good luck!

I agree with fourD. The variances from specimen to specimen will vary due to the tolerances required.

Do you still have the gray frn handle and an s90v blade from the fluted maxamet swap? That would be an awesome knife too.

Holy cow! I don’t think I’ve ever had spyder-envy this bad. What an awesome set you have. That gray and dlc combo needs to in production.

Seeing this thread again I also have a Frankenative to post. I had a flutted cf with a s35vn blade, I had no problems swapping in a M4 blade. Worked out nice.

I’m really liking that DLC gray set. It should be in production. I really like the way that Native looks with the spyderedge.

Hey guys,
I wanted to post in this thread and not mine since we are talking blade swaps about going from FRN to non-FRN here. It is possible to swap Manix 2s from one to the other. I threw the Maxamet from the LW in the blade h q or something exclusive with the Natural Jade G10s that came with the M4 earlier this year. I have a bad camera but here's the pic. If you dog me about swapping Max for M4 then you haven't tried Max yet.
