Fairly new to the forum. Livesay blades

I have had a few Newt Livesay blades in the past and have talked to the man. Just wondering what is going on now and what people think. His website has been down for awhile--heard rumors-etc.. and wondered what people think about his blades that pop up from time to time for sale. I have always liked his stuff and never had a problem. I actually kind of miss him. Please let me know if this right place to post because I am still learning.

Search "Livesay" in the Good Bad & Ugly forum for a LOT of information about him. A large percentage of it is negative.

From what I understand, Newt is out of the knifemaking business. His knives are very good quality, so if you find one you like in the aftermarket, go for it.

i ran into him a few months ago and at that time he said his website would be up in about a month and he would be producing knives again pretty soon. i agree with the above if you find one on the aftermarket you like go for it. I've got a couple and i really like them. later,ahgar
if you do a search on livesay you'll find a link to his son in laws site and from what i've been told he makes some pretty good knives.

Newt made lots of pretty good knives, so if you find one at a reasonable price, go for it. Newt's son in law, Darrell Parent makes great knives also.

Interesting that with all the problems he has had that he would be thinking of making knives again.
