Ooooh shiny. :) Got a spine shot you can post? Not 100% sure what's going on there towards the tip.

Spine shot very soon! I tried to get one but it didn't work out, lol.

This grind is inspired by Japanese Katanas, they have a harpoon like point that is bigger at the tip. This one is self defense all the way. Spine shot soon!

Beautiful! I won't order one yet, but after the next one is made I know what I'll be wanting.

Unless this one is for sale?

Talk about different. That's some nice grinding on the tip. How hard was it to get the angles you wanted?

is that a nightmare chisel grind that transitions back into full thickness at the tip?

that's sexy, begging for a hamon.

It was a really tough one, very different to do. I got it looking good with the grinder then hand finished it so I didn't screw it up! The front "ricasso" (lol I have no idea what it is really called but where the flat meets the steep grind) was very tough then and super steep chisel at the tip was different than I was used to as well. I woke up wanting to do something different and honestly wasn't sure if the idea would work. I try to keep pushing myself to get better.

You know it! Full flat chisel to fully thick tip with a very steep grind on the tip. There is a tiny "swedge" behind the fully thick tip.

Thanks!

Almost like a stabbier version of the Havok V with no 'poon. I'm not surprised this has generated so much attention, it's wicked sexy.

Thanks! It does resemble the Havok. I was thinking the sweeping design would also work well as a Pikal.

I still owe you guys a spine shot!

Here's the swedge, I took a photo of it against a flat background so you can see how much metal is removed. It still hasn't been post heat treat ground or sharpened so the profile will change a tiny bit.

By the way the "Old Timer" name was a joke, there is a traditional knife that vaguely resembles the profile of this one... :D :D :D

I have been away for too long...
This is amazing, how did you come up with that combo edge/tip shape?
On that last photo it looks like an icicle / drop of dew at the tip of the knife, very nice!
