Fake BK6 on the exchange

Never seen one like that. Doesn't mean it's not real, but I'm sure going to be interested in what Ethan says about this one.

ETA: I snagged all the pics to my desktop in case they're taken down at some point. Be happy to post them up here in that case.

I had a thread about looking for a BK6 and that kind of matches the description Bladite I think it was told me to watch out for. I'll see if I can find it to be sure. I'd hate for it to be real and everyone say it's fake or to be fake and everyone believe it's real. We need facts. Hmm

the seller is well known and has had an excellent rep here on BF, i cannot see him trying to pass off a fake to BF buyers.

I think I've dealt with Venice Will in the past with no complaints. That's just a seriously curious example of a Patrol Machete. In all my eBay watching for Camillus examples, I've never seen one like it. In some ways, that fact almost makes me think it might be real. Knock-offs would probably be more common on the 'bay.

Well, Ethan has spoken...
This "model" may be part of a new run of Camillus knock-offs to be wary of at present.
With Camillus no longer, who's going to challenge the name? (well... other than the actual designer of the BK-6 )

This is NOT, I repeat NOT a Becker designed product.....It may LOOK like my design BUT, it IS NOT a Becker Knife and Tool product........

Caveat Emptor.....

All Best.......

It in no way reflects on the seller unless he was made aware of the forgery. Yep, that is a Chinese copy of the BK6. Ethan has never, I repeat, never put his face on a Becker box. Also, I'm pretty sure, but there was never a stainless BK6 made. Bladite will catch me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure. Its a fake Becker.

Lots of other little things bothered me too. All the Camillus boxes were green, even the ones that sold at PX's (the SG models). On the back of that sheath, the name looks to be CamiLLus with two capital L's. Weird. And the handle materials/screws don't match anything I've seen on a Becker.

ETA: Bladite, you might grab those pics and put a thread about fake Beckers into the blade database. Might help others on down the road. That's the first I've seen, but I wonder if there are others. If the pics are gone before you get to them, I've got 'em.

Hey Guys.....

First off many thanks to Oso Blanco for alerting me .......I was soooo..irritated that I did not even see my pic on the box, I was so concentrated on the knife itself......

This knowledge will certainly enliven the SHOT Show for me.........

Thanks, again Oso Blanco.....

All Best...

Here's another one, this one goes into a little more detail about the forgeries.

Hmm... seems they started coming out middle of this year? That post was May 2010. Certainly good intel.

Ethan, I say we storm the P.R.O.C. with some real BK-6's. Me and Moose both have one, and I think he speaks a little Mandarin.

(That may have just been drunken Jack Daniels talk though.)

Can I come with, I don't have a BK6 but I do have a few Becker knives I can bring for fun.....

Hey Guys....

This is why you "trade dress" is so important to legit people.....These people used a picture taken by my wife and my own words to sell a product that has nothing to do with me....

Very weird feeling and it ain't a good one...I better shut up right now until i can get the legal beagles on the phone tomorrow.......

To quote the late and very great Al Mar-----ALWAYS check your six.....

All Best...

Ethan, if some Chinese outfit is using your mug and the Camillus name to sell a fake BK-6, it would not surprise me at all to see other Camillus models eventually coming across the Pacific with the same crap steel and bogus packaging. Those folks have no honor. I for one will keep a diligent eye out.

Ethan, It was trully nothing, but, You're welcome, anyway.
I was only hoping to throw enough question, 'til the matter could be resolve by experts, in hope no one gets burned.
As a side note; I recieved a Camillus BK3 in the mail yesterday, and the pic on thefront of the included brochure (2001) is the same as on 'that' box.

If I remember, china has no copyright laws...

they can copy anything they want and sell it as there own, please correct me if I'm wrong.
