I had a thread about looking for a BK6 and that kind of matches the description Bladite I think it was told me to watch out for. I'll see if I can find it to be sure. I'd hate for it to be real and everyone say it's fake or to be fake and everyone believe it's real. We need facts. Hmm
i have a section in the FAQ about this very thing, listed under the BK6 heading... OB was kind enough to repost that above as well.
These very fakes were listed on ePray in TWO colors for a short time around June 2010, then canceled for some reason

Ethan and KaBar were made aware of them.
BK6 Becker Blade Database and updated fake informations...

I think I've dealt with Venice Will in the past with no complaints. That's just a seriously curious example of a Patrol Machete. In all my eBay watching for Camillus examples, I've never seen one like it. In some ways, that fact almost makes me think it might be real. Knock-offs would probably be more common on the 'bay.
Venice Will is a fairly stand up guy, and has to my knoweldge never screwed anyone over. I've sold (and bought?) from him in the past. Would again. Good reputation.
It in no way reflects on the seller unless he was made aware of the forgery. Yep, that is a Chinese copy of the BK6. Ethan has never, I repeat, never put his face on a Becker box. Also, I'm pretty sure, but there was never a stainless BK6 made. Bladite will catch me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure. Its a fake Becker. Moose
I'm sure Will is annoyed as anyone (or more so) about having aquired a fake. Now he has to deal with it. Course, being sold as a "curiosity" wouldn't be a bad thing if listed as such (now that he knows), but it's not the real-deal. Whoever sold it to him should probably be informed as well.
Lots of other little things bothered me too. All the Camillus boxes were green, even the ones that sold at PX's (the SG models). On the back of that sheath, the name looks to be CamiLLus with two capital L's. Weird. And the handle materials/screws don't match anything I've seen on a Becker.
ETA: Bladite, you might grab those pics and put a thread about fake Beckers into the blade database. Might help others on down the road. That's the first I've seen, but I wonder if there are others. If the pics are gone before you get to them, I've got 'em.
I've updated the FAQ with all the little not so subtle fake details. I've copied the pictures and asked Will's permission to rehost them, so i can officially put the pictures (very nice ones), into the FAQ so others can see what fakes look like. I didn't manage to copy the pictures from the Summer ePray ads in time, very sad nana.
I am fairly young to this forum. I hope that my failure to follow the header with a ? mark does not imply an accusation, I meant none. After I nearly bought it I checked this link:

i swear, people ignore it
Hey Guys....
This is why you "trade dress" is so important to legit people.....These people used a picture taken by my wife and my own words to sell a product that has nothing to do with me....
Very weird feeling and it ain't a good one...I better shut up right now until i can get the legal beagles on the phone tomorrow.......
To quote the late and very great Al Mar-----ALWAYS check your six.....
All Best...

Hey Ethan, yeah, this is the EXACT same productI was telling you about last Summer and being pimped on ePray. seems a couple people must have unfortunately bought them, and they're moving around.
Maybe eventually I'll get one for cheap for the "curio shelf"

It's KIND of flattering someone is copying your stuff. Annoying maybe (YOU are not getting the $$$$$) but flattering.
If I remember, china has no copyright laws...
they can copy anything they want and sell it as there own, please correct me if I'm wrong.
oh, absolutely they can copy anything and sell anything in CHINA.
however, the USA has laws, and afaik we're not supposed to allow importation and sales of *obvious* forgeries. unfortunately, the Chinese do it *ALL THE TIME* and it's hard to fight, both legally, and in volume. customs people miss a lot of stuff, and can't stop it all. best policy: don't buy chinese products if you can avoid it. imho.
well. exciting!
