fake busse?

They did the same thing w/ the TB Tracker a few years ago,but it was a lot more convincing. The tipoff occurred when it sold for $9.99!!

Yep looks pretty similar in style for sure. I've even seen some fake leupold mark-4's that are almost identical with no markings whatsoever. But once you handled and looked thru them you could tell they were fakes. And they were selling for 100 versus 1200.00 Just junk imho.:thumbdn::thumbdn:

Suckers. I'm gettin' me a Mojo for 10 bucks plus shipping, and when I get me dat Mojo delivered in an ENVELOPE, you'll all be sooooo jealous!!!!

:barf::rolleyes:
:foot:;);) :D

What a rip scam. :thumbdn:

The Strider rip off he has for sale includes a pic with the tip broke off. What a loser.

Yes, but the explanation was that it was the test version of knife. Just to show you how tough his knock off knives are!

Reported as well.

Sent a bunch of questions under the pretext of being VERY interested... Can hardly wait to see the answers, LOL...then off to eBay CS for fraud reporting. :grumpy:

Test version? ...You mean to see how well his counterfeits would pass for the real deal? :barf: :D

while the numbering system doesn't correspond directly, the idea is the same on their "version" of this chris reeves design:
2010031716195034171.jpg

The parent directory for both knives is a list of copies from current manufacturer, with the original name and manufacturer listed on the page, including a chris reeves. I can't read chinese, so it may be a company that makes them onsite, or it could be a distribution company that sends out the designs to local machine shops in china and "rebrands" them for internet sale.

though, the grinds are different. possibly an entirely different random chinese firm or machine company.

apparently he just really liked the design.

either way whoever posted these pics is pretty darn good with a water stone:

Yeah, they don't look right. But they're a great buy right now, only $9.90!;)

Well I think THE DEAD GIVEAWAY is where they are shipping out of, China!

These particular knives are obviously fake - but it doesn't have anything to do with where they come from. We have members here who live in China and collect real Busse blades - so that sort of assumption doesn't hold true.

A few questions & answers have been posted on the listing, so hopefully, no one falls for this if they take the time to read them. Mine was...as I hoped it would be if I played dumb and acted interested. ;)

these are produced by the company I linked before, the babelfish translation shows the common description as "hawk version mojo", a poorly translated name of the company being "the hawk flies". You can find reviews of their version on their forum:

It's a chinese manufacturer that sells within chinese borders. From the looks of the website, they don't have an international sales section set up on the website itself. I'm not sure who is selling them on ebay, but either way it's a foray into the american market of a copy that's been being made for a while now.

If you're referring to fleabay, I looked up "Busse Mojo" and came up with nothing.

It only said "Busse Knife" as the title. Both have now been removed from auction. The reports must have made it thru to the powers that be on the auction site.
