Hes been reported and ive reached out to ebay, im so sick of these &$*$!!!! scammers!

Kenneth,

Judging by your first post I assume you are upset and disheartened. That's what happened to me when I bought my first cheap Sebenza on ebay. However it was possible to differentiate vs. the real one just by looking at the pics only in most 90% of the cases. I became good at it - spotting the fakes as I've gained experience and interacted with users here. Still a big challenge: Spotting fake Striders since they differ from batch to batch the "flying penis" logo, position and fonts of the STRIDER or M STRIDER, screws, fit and finish, etc...

Why did you think that was fake? What did arise your suspicions? Judging by the looks of the picture it looks legit to me.

I do report to ebay these sellers and reported one Chinese user numerous times, but still see him selling fake knives.

Would you be good enough to let us know how you were able to determine 100% that it was fake? Did you ask Gerber?

This is one of the reasons why bought both of my knives directly from Cold Steel distributor store...

Other reasons being:
best price
fact that delivery services here suck
fact that I get to see the knife IRL and hold it in my hand before paying for it
fact that the distributor is in my city...

Exactly. Use common sense. Any expensive over $300 knives I bought -> I'd rather buy it from members here or pay a bit higher and buy from the dealers.

Buy on ebay if you know exactly what you are buying and can spot a fake with a pictures + buy ONLY from American reputable long-term sellers!

when it comes to knives I only...
Buy American
From Americans
Made in America
By Americans

Op posted really early this morning, maybe they are sleeping? I've hit the post button on a few midnight bathroom breaks!

That said, if the knife is as shown in the pic it's a darn good copy, I cant tell if it is or not. I dont own one to compare to.

I've bought 2 strongarms. I don't have one in front of me, but the only difference I notice is the point on the pommel seems to be rounded off a bit.

Can't speak to the authenticity of this knife, but whenever shopping on eBay "New without box" is always a big red flag for me.

I have a Gerber Strongarm. Actually, it is a pretty good knife for the $44 I paid for it a few years ago. I also bought it from a respectable, well known online company.

I wouldn't suggest buying knives off the bay.

The only Gerber product I recommend now is the Gerber Gator in 154 CM. Made in America and the big, rubberized grip is very comfortable. < $50 too.

I have 2 and my teenage son has one. They are, IMO, great knives for the money.

Actually there are several markers i SHOULD have noticed from the pics, but certainly so in hand, also too many videos out there showing the "flaws" on the fakes.

1. silver snap buttons
2. buttons are not aligned right
3. drop point is bigger and longer
4. the pomel is shiney and "cheap" looking / cast
5. the scalops cuts are much deeper
6. rough edges on the plastic castings on the scabbard
7. lack of a box or a box that is much smaller than it should be
8. the REAL GERBERS HAVE DOUBLE LINED SILVERY REFLECTIVE LOGOS , AND "MADE IN OREGON" ETC MARKINGS!!!......the FAKE ones are SINGLE LINED and WHITE, not SILVERY reflective

Thanks for sharing that with us. I don't have one so it is hard to see the problem.
