Fake/Counterfeit or Real Bravo Rescue Black? Yes It is a Fake/Counterfeit.

I got an email from a very concerned freind this morning who said he wanted to talk to me about something important. It was the seller of the knife which is the subject of this thread. Ive known this seller for some years now and he is a great guy and avid Buck collector. After talking with him i saw that he was more concerned about how this situation reflects on him as a person verses any monetary concerns. I can promise you that if he knew it would offend, he never would have done this in the first place. He definitely was not out to make any money on this knife as you can see from his description. Personally, his note to David affirms my thoughts that he is a top notch person. He explained why he did it, then acknowledged that regardless of what he was hoping to acomplish, he offended some and learned from the experience. I cant say that i am familiar with the criteria you use to add someone to the dreaded sticky thread on counterfiets but I hope you can make an exception based on his responses and see that this was an isolated and ill advised one time only event for him. I hope this helps.

I left this seller in my favorites list. After reading Plumbrdv's exchanges, I feel he took a big risk by putting that one out there in the hopes of educating some buyers. I can respect him for this, as he is a highly rated seller, and he was very clear that it was a fake. After reading PDaves exchanges, it all made sense, at least in my eyes.
Also, I noticed that it was listed as "used". A thought came to me that, after a while, many of these fakes will undoubtedly come up for sale by the initial buyers. Some of them may be quite unaware that they have a dubious knife. The sticky will undoubtedly be a handy reference.
Another thought about the sticky is that, as it grows, it will be more difficult to scan through for a specific knife. If there is a reference to the specific model number that it is a clone of, a search parameter will speed up identifying a particular fake. Without said data, there will be pages and pages to scan through hoping to see a particular example. Just a thought...

This thread likely should have been part of the sticky, but I know Oregon was not sure what to do about a knife he knew was a counterfeit attached to someone everyone knows. Again the road got bumpy and again the situation was handled decently. Both from the forum members discussing and the knife's owner/seller reply's. I am not going to lock thread but lets not beat a dead horse too long. 300Bucks
