So, using images from his own website, let's take a look.
Hmmm, the handle seems pretty clunky in comparison to the blade. I wonder if this counts as "Krystal Matrix Damascus" or his "wootz".
Wow, seems like that wood in the handle would have a bad tendency to break out. Reckon that's why no one else makes handles that way? So far the blades look decently-enough shaped...
Wow! What happened here? Was he having an off day, or is this one of the blades he actually made himself, while the other two are made by someone else...in another country, perhaps?
Well this one looks straight. Decent false edge, even.
What happened? He did so good on the other one's false edge! And what's up with the guard? The one in the first picture is so nice, and this one looks like he forgot to shape it halfway through.
Wow. Just wow. Fine hand craftsmanship there. I'm sure someone who takes such meticulous care with their shaping also puts as much time and effort into heat treating their fine work. I mean, he'll talk your ear off about what a great knife it is, so surely he's got his heat treatment tuned to a high art?
Is this the Wootz? I got something like that once, when I dropped a railroad spike into the bottom of a Johnson trench forge and had to get it back out the next day. I though it was just decarburization. Shoulda kept that spike!
Perhaps I've misjudged? Maybe this is all the work of a single individual who makes knives of a quality not to be found elsewhere throughout the Southwest (paraphrasing from his literature)?
What do y'all think?
