I'm trying to help get the word out to knife collectors about an annoying new trend I've noticed on Amazon and Ebay, where AI generated slop is being presented as real items. I posted this on other forums as well.

I like knife books, and am always on the hunt for ones that I do not already have. I came across these couple, and after doing a bit of digging, found that these books have fake AI cover images, and the content inside is all AI written non-sense. In looking at other books offered by the authors, they have "written" dozens under many different subjects, and all are just AI created garbage. A person can have AI create a 100 page book about any topic in a matter of minutes, and create a fake AI generated cover image, and self-publish through Amazon and have a book listed for sale in less than 3 days.

Please be wary of any knife books you find that were written 2024 or newer, without doing your homework. Don't spend your money on this trash.

It's almost comical how bad the graphics are. My worry is that as AI gets better in the coming years, it is going to be harder to detect.

Here's the cover, in case anyone doesn't want to give the algorithm a click:

That impossible 3rd blade is a giveaway, but yeah, it's going to get harder and harder to tell reality from B.S.

Why do both books have the same title?
Isn't that some sort of copyright violation?
AI is good at skimming the internet for information but its pretty much illiterate when it comes to reading and writing. It has issues with context when it comes to generating text in images. It knows where the text should be but not what it should say and sometimes not even what text looks like.
Check out the tang stamps on the cover of the Riley Stone.Pocket Knife Identification Guide....
