For all they know I coulda been returning a Chinese fake?!
They stopped putting the patent stamps after the patent expired, so I’m not worried, but the part where I get worried is the scales, I’ve had two(this one included) from sportsman warehouse, and idk if my fingers are less sensitive cause of all the cleaning chemicals I use, but I just don’t feel the chalky texture, it’s kinda smooth. I do feel it when I rub my nail on it though. An easy way to tell if it’s legit or not would be the scales. When new, they have a chalky feel, and kinda wear smooth over time. If they’re smooth from out of the box...might be worth lookin into. Also, I noticed there’s no patent number or “benchmade.com” under the Osborne design insignia...maybe benchmades doin something different, but that would be worth lookin into. The blade grind looks good tho, so I don’t know. Clones are getting good. The only true way to find out is sending into benchmade...
