Fake Poliwogs

thats halarious as you can get the same knife on deal extreme for 6 bucks!

The only "blessing" on this one is that at least they didn't put Spyderco's name and logo on it, so hopefully none of them will show up in Golden for warranty repair.

The real thing is significantly more, but is actually well made lol. Sad thing is, the people buying the rip off probably don't even know what Spyderco is. Cheap knives like those are a waste of time.

The pages are riddled with improper grammar and syntax, which suggests that English is not the site owner's mother tongue.

I am rather ashamed that such garbage is funneled through Canada and I hope that Spyderco kicks 'Canada Knives' arse!

Not even close to a real polywog in performance ,i bet, only similar in looks!
Too bad they can't do their own design instead of ripping off others!

That's just terrible, I hope those losers get what they deserve. Although, I will adimit I did chuckle a little when i saw their take on the ball bearing lock, from the picks it looks like they are using a rod intead of a ball bearing.

Rat,
Thanks for the heads-up. Hadn't seen the camo version yet.

The Open Ball lock design (IMO) looks like a technically complicated design.

I am surprised that a imitation could pull it off successfully. I wonder how the lock-up is.

The PoliWog is also a very curious design to fake. It seams to me to be a very specific knife design, very unique, To fit a very distinct niche. Its not like a very generic design that will appeal to the masses.

I will say though (my same complaint with allot of spydies:o) I do like the addition of jimping...
Hint* maybe we can see some jimping on the G10 Poliwog?

PS;
Speaking of the G10 Poliwog... Does any one know if it will be linerless or have nested liners or....??
Thanks

Might be good for Spyderco to contact Columbia if they are using their name with permission.
If they are Columbia could give them some info and if they are not Spyderco and Columbia could team up on them.

That place is one big ripoff party. Extrema Ratio, Al Mar, Emerson, Kershaw, even Brian Tighe.

That was my first thought. I'll bet it's dangerous (as cheap knives usually are).

Regardless of the quality of the finished product, it's absolutely shameless. :thumbdn:

Technically the ripoff is not open ball design.
