Fake Sebenza, real Sebenza?

No need to rush it, it was a while before I got a CRK. And there are plenty of much cheaper knives that function just as well or better. The CRK ones just offer a luxury that you don't feel with the others. Honestly, though, I don't think I would have appreciated it if I had gotten it when I was just starting into knives.

I agree wholeheartedly with that. I made the mistake of getting a Mnandi as my second knife, and I couldn't fully appreciate it till my collection expanded.

On topic, yes, that looks fake. The rear end isn't right and the thumbstud is too large (Though you all probably know this by now). If you notice there's a slight bulge in the outline of the knife at the lanyard pin, this isn't present on a sebenza.

Head over to Dave’s and hold one in your hand... You’ll immediately know why everyone is crazy about them.

I agree with everything you've said but this one. You actually don't really realize why this little piece of titanium and steel costs $300-400+. I know when I got mine, I opened it up and was like "wow, I paid 330 for this knife??" It just didn't click at first. HOWEVER, after I kept using it over and over and actually carrying it I realized that this thing really is a work of perfection. You begin to notice little things that your other knives just don't have, (a rounded backspine for instance). And the awesome smootheness of the opening and closing. I think the most fun comes out of really using it, not just for like opening mail and stuff, but carving up sticks and using it in the woods. One of the great things that comes with it is its ability to be taken apart and put back together perfectly by ANYONE!

Is the knife worth a lot of money? YES!
Will you realize that its actually worth how much you spent? YES but it might take a little while.

Moral of the story,

GET A SEBENZA!!!!

just my $.02

I'm with this guy.

I remember when I got my first Sebenza. I sold a Strider SNG for the cash to get it and was almost having buyers remorse right away. I ordered straight from CRK and they were awesome to deal with. This was years ago and I have seen they have improved upon that design quite a bit. Once I got it I was quickly relieved, so I guess it depends on the person but either way we all soon realize the same thing. It’s the best folder in its price range. The new Umnumzaan really has me blown away. I got to play with one last week and was in awe. I will end up with one of those as well. I love my Pro Soldier which I call my fixed blade Sebenza :o

The CRKT Sebenza. People actually think that this plastic Seb copy they got is actually a cancelled collab>?.. Was there actually a collab, certainly could have happened. Is that what is being sold, ?.... think about it. To be discussed in whine and cheese.

Not sure if anybody was talking about the CRKT Sebenza in this thread, but it did exist and it was a cancelled collaboration knife. The QC was so bad on the protos that CRK ordered the whole thing scrapped and the samples destroyed.

Either they didn't destroy the sample pieces as ordered or the factory in china decided to make some more anyway, because you still see them on the market from time to time. They're a completely distinct knife from the clones that are showing up now.

I would like to have another one, but to me the large ones would never cut like a BM or spyderco. This kinda dis appointed me. Anyone know why? They are great put together knives, with fit and finish second to none.

"If it looks to good to be true, it probably is." I wouldn't forget this; it will save you a lot of money throughout your life.

Ah, you must also be from Vancouver. Thanks, I was as ready to jump on that as a college dude would be ready to jump on a naked drunk chick.

Most "naked drunk chicks" have fathers and brothers. You could be seeing an authentic Sabenza 21 sooner than you think.

Yea thumbstud and lanyard pin are instant giveaways. Blade shape and grind is off. The whole thing just looks off. Report it to CRK.
