fake sebenza?

I am no expert but looks fake to me. Looks like a anual but has no year. I am sure others will chime in with more knowledege.

No box, no paperwork, hardware is all wrong, description of it being a small with wood inlay......fake all the way

Good catch.

When spotting fakes (of anything) I always look hard at the logo. Just look at the R in the Logo. The leg is straight and should be curved. Way Wacky. Not even a good fake.

Its a fake. Will not get into the particulars that point it out as to help the counterfeiters, but it is indeed a fake. Good Catch...!

Fake. Btw for anyone who remembers my thread asking about a fake large 21 being offered in a trade, I sold my small Sebenza to that guy and showed him the quality of a true CRK. He is now an official Sebenzanite, totally hooked, and looking for more CRKs!

Edit: seems like there are a lot of these floating around right now, more so than usual...

Hah - I emailed this seller yesterday asking if he can confirm this is authentic, and he so far not replied.

I'm just hoping nobody will buy it. I've also reported item to ebay but I guess that they will resove my complaint early next year... btw. there was no 'buy it now' option before. guy added that only yesterday.

It looks like theres machine marks in front of the thumb lug; I hope someone doesn't get it thinking its real, thats the worst part...

Just posted it on my Facebook page with a warning. Hopefully it will get passed around. This crap needs to stop. I found one of my knives for sale on E-Bay claimed to be made by another maker. Seller said my name was the name of the previous owner. I really hate this kind of thing.

I wish they would issue the birth-cards with a serial number that matches a lazer-etched serial number under the slab. If they had a database, at least you would have something to check against.

somebody placed a bid on it :-( what happens if i win the listing and refuse to pay at the end?

You have two choices,
Contact the seller and explain that you were under the impression it was a authentic CRK and discovered it is a fake and ask him to end the listing or you'll have to report it for false information or
Buy the knife, once you get it, contact the seller for a refund based on it's not authentic. The seller does have a return policy, you'll be out the return shipping fees.
You do have protection with the bay......

I already reported him, and I think more people contacted him asking if this is a fake and listing is still running. i will check all his items and report him if i'll find more fakes. the second option isnt really solution to me. I'm from Europe so I would have to pay import fees and then request them back from duty office and that's too complicated.

I reported it to Ebay, also.

The seller has sold quite a few relatively high-end knives. I feel like he should know better - though it could be an honest mistake, I suppose.

One flaw of EBay's feedback system is that buyers can't leave feedback for canceled sales or returned items. Let's say you get a fake. You file a claim/dispute. Buyer claims he had no idea - oops, honest mistake - and refunds your money. You have no way of letting potential future buyers that the seller tries to slip in fake knives.

Next time the seller gets lucky and sells it to a buyer that doesn't have the knowledge to spot a fake (or he gets a batch of fakes that are harder to spot.)

The point is the seller has perfect feedback and seems as if he should be trusted. I'm pointing out that's not always the case.

if i did such mistake and somebody would point out to me that I'm selling a fake I would cancel the listing. this guy knows very well what he's selling.

My TOPS was issued with what number knife it was laser etched on the blade and with corrosponding number on birth certificate...

Just because the box and papers are missing does not mean it's a fake. Boxes, paper work gets lost, misplaced and is worthless compared to the knife.
