A friend of mine is going night fishing and knowing my love for knives, she saw a Spyderco
knife someone was using and took a pic, emailed it to me and asked my opinion on it.
I said to her, I dunno what that is, but that sure is no Spyderco. She insists that it is, I keep
telling her I know the usual design of Spydercos and what they put out and that this has to be a fake.
She's like how could I possible know everything they put out, that this could be a Spyderco. So
to settle, I said I am putting it on the forum and they will tell you its a fake - so here it is.

So Fake.

Spyderco knives are defined by the Opening Hole. They even put the hole on their fixed blades.

I hope she didn't bet you money on it.

Hopelessly fake. Last week I emailed the ebay seller someone mentioned in a previous post letting him know he was selling a complete knock-off.

Man, that's not even trying to fool anyone with basic working Spyderco knowledge. Just going for someone who somehow recognizes the name brand and thinks they're good; which they are, just not this hunk of metal. Sorry to tell your friend they have fallen into this category.

The spider on the handle is more akin to Kirby Lambert's logo than anything you've ever seen associated with Spyderco. Shoot, maybe I just gave them the idea to pass those off as a $500 custom piece from Canada. Sorry Kirby. ;)

Definite fake. It makes me fairly mad that people make knockoff designs from a great company.
