Hello.

I can see this is unlikely given it's a recently made limited run but is there a risk if I purchase the Military model (S90V blade/G10 scales) off Ebay it may be counterfeit?.

The sellers reputable and appears to be a dealer in Spyderco's.

Thanks :).

Is it clear in the pics that the blade is marked S90V?Or could it be a mistake in the discription?Link?

The only fake Spyderco iv seen personaly was a Spyderfly and it was a poor fake at that, only someone who had never seen the original could be fooled by it.
Iv seen MANY fake emersons, benchmades and striders her in Taiwan but just that one Spyderco.

Yes, I recall plenty of them myself but it's been several years since I was last using Ebay for this type of purchase, and wouldn't coincidentally know the situation on fakes.

Anyway, here is a photo of it.

It looks just like mine. It seems the S90V Sprint run was made in two batches, but not released until the second batch was finished. My second one came in the older grey box like the one in that picture, while my first one came in the newer red and black box. Go figure.

Although Sal has posted that they run into fake Spyderco knives from time to time, I have yet to encounter one. Most of my Spyderco knives have been purchased on eBay.

The knife in that pic is genuine,

If you get a knife that dosnt look like that one then you can cry foul and get your cash back any way. its a hastle but you are protected to an extent.

Well that auction states that it is cf.

We don't think the S90V blade was available on this knife in other than CF, we could be wrong, that one from the picture, is the real deal, just like the 2 we have, you can see the weave of the CF. Gosh what a great knife!

I got Mine from New Graham and next to the spyder emblem on the blade it is marked 083V - don't know if this means anything?

New Graham is a top shelf operation, perhaps there was a special run for them, don't believe you can go wrong with them, cutleryshoppe.com, or knifeworks.com just to name a few, there are others out there as well...

Purchase has been made. I'd like to apologise in advance in case of any further paranoia once it arrives :D.
Purchasing one of these was inevitable I'm afraid :o, looking forward to a good service life with it.

The S90V/CF Military is the first variation of that model that I have bought a back-up for. All the Millies are good, but the S90V steel holds an edge better than anything else I have tried.

If you ended up with the knife from whitemountainknives, you should be OK. I've done business with them in the past and everything was on the up-and-up. Their feedback only just recently dropped from 100% to 99.9% and it's based on a decent number of sales.

Just an FYI...when looking at the larger picture available by clicking on the smaller one, the blade clearly reads CPM S90V.

Enjoy! :D

Ray :)
