Fake umnumzaan on eabay

I reported the item as being a fake , I just hope you guys get to the winner of this and let him know he is being ripped off, I also thought about sending an email to the company and asking them if they are aware that Ryan Marquis is selling counterfeit knives on E-bay.

I have been seeing a lot of fake Striders and Hinderers coming from China lately on ebay. Is there some thing we can do to counter these scumbags?

This is disgusting.....!!! I feel bad for the poor guy that shelled out $370 for it. As soon as I spotted it, I seen it was fake. Anyone that has owned or looked at an Umnumzaan should be able to tell the difference. This sucks on so many levels.

If you look at the history of sold Umnumzaan's, you'll see he sold another one, the day before. It fetched 275...

I know, I saw that. Gotta feel bad for the uneducated newbie CRK wanna be owner. We were all new once, but this was not rampant 10-15 years ago when most of us began our CRK collection.

With no intentions of fueling the fire,I am surprised that as accurate as the fakes are starting to be,that indeed copies of the birth-cards,boxes etc. are not around.

Perhaps it's a language barrier issue.

I've been hearing stories of sellers on flea bay selling gen. articles and then having buyers file claims with PP and the bay for counterfeit merchandise using

replicas they switch out.

Check out the "real deal" microtechs he's been seeling in his sales history. Doesnt look like its his first rodeo.

100% agree
he's selling 50 dollar Microtech knock offs as legit knives and screwing over overly trusting and not too bright buyers, what a joke.

Best to have everyone report his auctions for what they are.

any thoughts on it being the same knife just being re-sold over and over?

curious as to whether it will pop up again after this one sells.

It looks like Ebay pulled the listing but he did sell two before this last one was removed.
Good job to everyone who reported the listing.

He was also selling fake Spydercos but it doesn't appear anyone bit on those so hopefully he is stuck with them. The blade markings aren't anywhere near close to what a real Spyderco has.
The fake Microtechs are a different story and drew big dollars.

I for one will be keeping an eye on this losers listings and reporting them to ebay as needed. Anyone who tries to pass these as real deal knives deserves nothing less.

Hi!

now he is selling Spyderco Military and I was interested on it before reading this topic. Is it false?

it seems that someone has already bought them, but feedbacks are positive....does he have also fake feedbacks?

That looks like a stock picture so there is no way of knowing for sure if it is legitimate. But given this guy's history which you are fully aware of, why would you even consider it? It is an unnecessary risk that you don't have to take. I for one, would not buy anything from this seller. I don't feel he deserves anyone's business. I think you are only asking for trouble if you move forward with this purchase.

I saw a fake Umnumzaan on Friday that is very close to the real Chris Reeve knife. It had the old style pivot and it also had "Idaho Made" and the "CR" logo. There were a few issues to label it as fake but you could be fooled easily if you didn't know what to look for. It's time to be very carefull who you buy from. :(:thumbdn:

Thank you for the answer......you are right but why ebay doesn't delete these users? why this user is selling his crap for years on ebay?

So a inexperienced buyer can go wrong and pays a lot for a fake. I think that it would be a good thing to do a list of bad and good sellers.

This is largly because e-bay just don't care as long as they are making money. You can report a listing and it will be delt with by them but the same listing could pop up an hour later and e-bay will do nothing unless it's reported again. It seems you can only get your account canned for stealing money in some way, I could be wrong but I don't remember hearing about any accounts closed for selling fake items. You just need to look at the shear volume of fake items sold to see e-bay give not a hoot about it.

Haze, totally agree. I ran across what I believed were stolen goods. Reported it to Ebay. Their response was that I should contact law enforcement.

I firmly believe that as long as they can deny responsibility and avoid legal action, they will continue to let anything and everything sell. It only costs them money to be looking out for fraud.

Yep, that was me, I figured it out way too late, I am a sailor and have been out to sea, now I am trying to open a complaint and hopefuly get a refund but I doubt it.
