Falcata

wow oh man did I miss some great blades! Congrats Mike! Have any nice Finnish model 91 mosin's for sale? lol

i know its boring . I always say the same thing . It looks like it would take a wicked swing . Whoever picks this up ? Let us know how it feels .

You know, with the umbrella handle, I can't get 'Singing in the Rain", out of my mind. Add to that a Clockwork Orange role for the blade and there's a sequel.

:D

I like that movie, but will skip on the milk laced with LSD.

Medbill, actually I financially traded this for a Walther P-38/P-1 pistol yesterday morning. Empire Arms has what you're looking for, though.

the P-1 ...it'll be around. The falcata, rare critter.

Will post pix.

Mike

actually, if your really going to use this i would suggest iether wrapping the handle in grip tape, or using a pair of gloves with some kind of sticky grip on it.

the handle is essentially a pole handle, and the bottom curve allows the entire unit to swing forward and out of your grip, leaving your with your pinky and ring finger in the curve, holding 3lbs 27 inches out off of 3 fingers.

if the pommel area of the handle came to a square at the spine rather then a curve, i dont think that would be an issue, but as it is, just make sure you can maintain your grip when using it.

may be worth sanding the handle down to a lower grit....

bueatiful blade, just a very unique handle that requires unique user techniques.

if i had smaller hands and could use it 2 handed, it would be awesome... the bashing and face checking potentials of that handle style on a 2 handed grip are quite impressive :D

Cool, Seth. Thanks. Seen pix of Nasty chopping stuff with his. I'm afraid I just might use this.

You got a falcata recently didn't you? Or was it in Olden Days?

just recently :D

hope to have a banchero some day as well....

and i may just have to start up my own shop just so i can have a 3/4" thick patang :D

there are things i want... certain things i know i cant have, but it doesnt stop me from wanting them... someday.... 1" thick.... its gonna be awesome... and at that point, if i can make that, i will probably be able to make a sword like the one in silent hill.... not for use - just because i want it :D

I would love to have a "combat" version of that blade, no high polish, no woodcraft. Kydex rig

It's a good idea... Villager falcata.... for that matter, I'd like a villager HI katana.

To me the Walther P-38 is the most beautiful pistol ever made.
It's too bad they aren't priced like the CZ52 so I could afford as well as justify one.
I should'a bit the bullet 36 years ago and kept the one I could'a got from my Cuz for $75.00, it was a WW II model with a steel frame.
Twenty-twenty hindsight is never wrong though, ainnit? :( :o

Yvsa, the P1/P38's in that link are a pretty good buy at $239. In the 1980's, a bud paid like $600 for one.

Wal-P1 Walther P1/P38 9mm Pistol

Sadly, the excellent CZ52's have creeped up in price from the bargain $89 a year ago (now all gone) to $129-138-159-189, depending on condition.

I was on backorder with J&G for months, these finally came last week:

New holster, but no extra mags. Blued, unlike my early parkerized one, but new-looking and not "VOZ" stamped re-works. CZ-52's rock (remember that thread?)

The milsurp market is exactly like khukuris: here one instant, gone the next. Gotta be a pouncer. Hesitation is lost opportunity...

Mike

Beautiful. I remember the low cost ones. Mil Surp usually arrives in 'waves'.

If you keep an eye out on the market you can pick what is right for you. I missed this, just like the MoisenNagents and K31's. Not in the loop anymore.

I love Military surplus weapons. I like swabbing away the cosmoline. By the time you've got her clean you know the arm better.
