Okay, okay... the WMI is not marketed by Falkniven as a neck knife. But it has the the dimensions of a good neck knife (IMO): 6.75 OAL, 2.73" satin finished blade of VG10 in a "moran grind", and a contoured handle of 3/8" thickness using a very grippy, rubber-like material ("thermuron"). The leather sheath, however, had to go (in storage that is)!

Contacted Mike Sastre for a concealex neck carry Sheath with a IWB retenton strap option. Send knife off several weeks ago and got it back today. What a beautiful piece of work!!!!

End result: Almost the perfect neck knife (with multicarry options) for under $90.

Those interested should contact Mike Sastre. This WMI sheath is his first but not likely the last!

Hi Sing, funny that you mention it.
I thought about the very same thing when I checked one of those out last week. It should make quite a good neck knife as it is rather thin. You are right about the sheath, not very suitable for neck carry, but I read in an advertise in a swedish hunting magazine that Fallkniven soon are offering kydex sheats for their knives.

Guys, I am technically inept but will attempt. I'll take a JPG, send it to Maddog'2020 and see if he can post it on his photopoint account.

I not sure a photo (at least what I'll take will do justice to the pattern on Sastre's concealex sheath)

Already (but not for the WM-1 yet), if this web page isn't premature: http://www.ph-import.com/fk.html
but all them are shown at Fällkniven's

Giffon,

Thanks. Maybe I purchase the WMI too soon!!! I think the new kydex sheath is better. But if that nylon webbing doesn't have the option of coming off, it would be limited for a neck carry.

I took photos today of my WMI and some of my other neck knives. Hope to get them into Photopoint account with the help of MD'2020. Will let you know when this is done.

The kydex sheaths for some or all of the Fallknivens are supposed to come with LagaNet's (my distributor) next shipment from Sweden, God willing and the creek don't rise.

Thanks for the link to Fallkniven's photo page. I hadn't looked there in a while, so I hadn't seen what they looked like. I wonder if the grip of kydex to the guard area is secure enough to allow the user to forget the snap strap if he or she prefers.

I want one too! Presumably Mr. Sastre would not need to be sent another knife (especially from the UK)to produce another sheath?

Nice goodies there Sing. Is that drop point on your personal standard from Bob Dozier? All I' ve ever seen was a clip point style blade.

Nakano,

Wow, you noticed! I picked this Dozier up at the Blade show. It was not only different in the point style but the finger guard was ever so slightly deeper and more secure than the other "personals" he had on the table. That was the only knife I bought at the Atlanta show.

to Sing; I have two neck knives of exceptional quality and utility value, an Executive Woo($45) and a Little Pecker($30)from Newt Livesay and Treated with a Sentry Tuff-Cloth. They are as serviceable as the high dollar knives, and due to the reasonable prices, have the added advantage of being "disposable." If you haven't seen one, take a look.

Hi Erik,

I think the kydex sheaths are a great option/addition to the Falkniven knives. However, the fact that the nylon webbing is permanent and that there is only one hole at the bottom of the sheath and no room to add another pretty much rules that sheath out for a comfortable, unobtrusive neck carry.

Fudo: Sorry I missed your post back then. I have been interested in Livesay's stuff though I haven't gotten around to purchasing yet. THe stuff I hear is pretty positive about the "value" against the dollars spent.

I'm not sure if this was directed at me or not,, if it is,,Hmm maybe I missed something somewhere...

The knife sheath above is not mine.. That I believe is to be a factory Fallkniven rig...

Mine do not have straps or webbing what so ever. They have a concealex belt loop and are multi carry, designed to be used IWB as well as neck carry...

Thanks..

ttyle Eric....

Hi Normark.

I think Sing was replying to Peter Hjortbergers post, which was signed by his webmaster, Erik.
