Not so many Sweet Chestnuts “out in the wild” around here unfortunately. Like you say they’re beautiful trees to just stand and behold, they surrounded the house we used to have over in France and autumn trips were a highlight of the year.
Horse chestnuts on the other hand are quite plentiful and a lone “Conker” tree always stops me in my tracks. More and more seem to be struggling with that bug infestation though, shame.
