Falling out of Love with Spyderco?

Soap box time:

I'd like it if Spyderco released something that's truly revolutionary. Something radical, something totally new. Something that opens up a whole new way of thinking about using, carrying, playing with, a knife.

BiFold?

Ten characters?

I've got plenty of money, and have been trying to find a new Spyder for awhile, but honestly, while I like a ton of models, I'm not seeing any right now that I like enough to buy...what's wrong with me?

"AM" I have a suggestion for you. If you have some dry powder ( Money $$) then I would suggest investing it in some of the classic older models. For instance try to snag a couple of the older Lil Temperance models. Check out some of the older Bob Lum Spyderco collaborations. The last I looked the C-46 Bob Lum models are going up like a hot NASDAQ stock. There are other older models that are great to invest in such as the Shabaria, Massad Ayoob, any of the Dyad models and not to mention the Bram Frank Gunting.

Just look at it from an investment standpoint. Then when Spyderco comes out with stuff you will love you will have some premium stuff to trade for them. It has worked for me in the past. I've seen it work for others.

I don't see how this would mean you're "falling out of love with Spyderco." Nothing wrong with taking a break from accumulating knives. Take some of that dough and plan a nice hiking or camping or fishing or hunting trip and get out and use some of the Spydies you have. :D

Hi AM,

I suggest that you find something that you like and buy it and play with it for a while.

Mr. Glesser,
You've got to admit, a titanium frame-lock Lum Chinese would be awesome!!!
