Fallkniven A1 vs. Swamp Rat Camp Tramp

Cliff Stamp said:
The Camp Tramp and A1 are two really different blades. The A1 is more of a really heavy utility/tactical, very strong due to the thick profile. The Camp Tramp is more of a working bowie blade, much higher chopping ability and in general a better cutting blade.

I have both A1 and CT, and am totally agree with Cliff.
The handle of CT is more comfortable for me, while the thinner and convex edge of A1 is more suitable for daily utility.
Both are good knives.

Jerry Busse,
I have sent you an email explaining myself as best as my 65yr. old brain is able to.

My appolagizies(spelling?) to you, Busse Combat Knives, and Swamp Rat Knives for any "BAD PRESS" you have gotton form me and my comments. I do here publically withdraw all negative comments I have written about Busse Combat Knives and Swamp Rat Knives.
I really have not received any of your e-mails and have included my current e-mail address to you via my e-mail to you.

Just incase anyone else wants to chew my ass on Jerry Busse's account, feel free to at:
rccassel1@comcast.net
:foot: :o

I am very sad and sorry to hear what has happend to Justin at Ranger Knives. It is too bad when people have got to cheat and steal at the cost of others. Believe me Justin if I was rich I would be glad to pay you what Andy owes you since I too have been blind sided by what has been going on in the background. I have purchased my last ATC product and will buy more Ranger knives in the future as funds come available. I am living on a diability income but am able to save some $$ as tlime goes by.

Ciao

Ron,

No hard feelings and I appreciate your response.

Thanks,

Jerry

.

Jerry Busse,
Thank you for the "no hard feelings". It really hurts me to find out that I have hurt someone else with my flapping jaws(fingers here).

Could I possibly just be jelouse because I can't afford another Busse?

The past is past so starting the new day with a better attitude is a good thing....thanks for setting me back onto the streight path about my attitude!

You are a class act Ron, and tops in my book! :D You just did what many cannot, and I commend that. Because of you I have a much better view of humanity, yea, I have been dealing with some customer issues myself..

I cant thank ya enough brother, you made my year! :D:D:D

Ron is a good guy in my book, and his apology here speaks volumes about that.

Whatever it is that he didn't like about his, I hope he'll give Jerry the chance to make it right. After all, the impeccable customer service is one of the main arguments for buying a Busse - and rightfully so.

Hey, what's all this peaceful resolution stuff? I thought we had a pretty good fight started when I got to the bottom of the first page, and I just cracked open a new bag of potato chips! :(

;)

I have 4 swamp rat knives including the camptramp and as of last friday a Fallkniven F1. I think These are both two of the best production knife companies around, both top quality craftsmenship and materias, but both with there differences. The SR camp tramp is still my favorite hard use larger knife I have ever owned and from the short time I have had with my Fallkniven, the F1 is about the best small fixed blade.

The way I see it swamp rats bigger knives are better than the fallknivens , while fallkniven has the better smaller knives. This is just my 2c so each to their own, but in the end I think both companies make outstanding knives..

Why not the Al Mar SERE Operator instead of the Fallkniven F1? The Al Mar is S30V instead of vg10. your thoughts?

I don't think that the difference is really significant between the two steels assuming the heat treat is right.

T1MPANI,
There is no such thing as a "good fight!" but there is such a thing as peace and a good attitude. My attitude needed some adjusting and Jerry Busse helped me out with mine. What's past is past and the future starts today!
Age kind of helps to rub out the vitriall and smooths things out.

I understand that your comments were just "tongue in cheek".

As Jerry Busse said to me in an e-mail...."there has been a lot of changes in the last 6 yrs." and I choose to believe him.

You're quite right in all you say, Ron--including the tongue in cheek nature of my post. Actually it was extremely refreshing to see a disagreement resolved so quickly, and I sincerely admire the maturity of your mindset---so many will hang on to an argument merely because they don't want to "give in" and will ironically lose the respect that they're trying to preserve through intransigence. If your attitude were more prevalent, the world would be far less stressful.

I do have to disagree on one point, though---if you want to see examples of a "good fight" you just have to search back (or you might remember them) to the old Mad Dog versus Busse threads. The best ones are when the original subject matter has been entirely forgotten, all hope of gaining knowledge or insight has been left behind, and there is nothing left but the bloodsport of a bunch of people who are, without a doubt, much braver sitting behind a keyboard than they would be in person. Like British humor, it's an aquired taste, but there's some seriously entertaining gems tucked into the archives here. ;)

Yes sir, I have been there and done that. Thats part of what I am trying to bury for my own good.

I'm happy to see a disagreement settled quickly and smoothly. It's nice to see people behave like adults.

Gentlebeings, this thread has touched on a dispute between former associates that is being settled in the courts and NOT ON BLADEFORUMS. That dispute really has nothing to do with the topic " Fallkniven A1 vs. Swamp Rat Camp Tramp" so I would rather not have to lock this thread.
