In my experience the Fallknivens are pretty hard and will chip if they come in contact with something fairly hard. You may have done something like hit mineral deposits in the wood or accidently bumped your knife into another knife. I bumped my F1 into my model 5 one time and chipped the blade in two different spots.
Just sharpen it and you should be good to go. If you continue to notice chipping with normal use then I would suspect a defective heat treat.
