Fallkniven F1 vs. Bark River Highland?

I also just got my F1 micarta. LOVE the knife, but I'm not as impressed with the sheath. Anyone care to share the real inside dope on where to have a custom leather sheath made with firesteel loop, F3 sharpener, and hopefully a hoffman harpoon slot on the back? Any information would be much appreciated...:)

docgra,
I know what you mean, I don't care for the full cover sheath on my F1GM either but I love the danglers so I took one of my other F1 sheaths and converted it to take the F1GM. I love it in this sheath.

As to where to send you for a custome leather sheath, I can't help since I do my own leather work but it is not a commercial thing. I just like working with leather.

You might think about checking with Fallkniven about a Kydex sheath for the GM. It's pretty easy to attach a ferrocium rod to a kydex sheath using electrical cable holders. That is what I used to make my "survival set".....the BK&T Brute and a Fallkniven F1 and 30' of 550 cord and the ferrocium rod all attached to the Brute sheath.

Thank you for your input. I have considered working my GM into the drop sheath that came with my F1, but haven't, since I would really like a custom sheath for the "super knife". Your shot of your Becker setup really gives me some things to think about, especially the use of the cable clips to hold the firesteel. I'm planning to put that set up on my CS Master Hunter kydex as soon as I can hunt up those clips that I put back somewhere in case I ever needed them again  Thanks for the quick reply. Hopefully, there is a sheath artist out there somewhere who would like to take on a challenge. I'm not in a great hurry, since I'm waiting for TOPS to get their sheaths together so the Hoffman Harpoon wil be available (SOSO...)

Kindest Personal Regards,
Doc
