Does anyone have any news about the Fallkniven G1? According to fallkniven.com, it is available "now", but none of the online dealers I am aware of are listing it. Any idea when it will be available?

I'm not sure. I dont' think it is out yet because Murray at ProEdge said he'd give me a hollar when it was available. You might want to hunt him down and email him about it.

Their web site is usually not updated in advance, but you'll have to take into account that it's available in Sweden now (I'm not interested in the model I can't verify it personally).
I don't think it'll cross the Atlantic and go from importers to retailers in less than three weeks from when it was first available.

A Marttiini, another Marttiini and a Brusletto knife, links to Scandinavian manufacturers, Fällkniven K1+K2 kitchen knives

I wish they would come out with a big blade. A big chopper with a 9.5" blade would be nice.

I got my G1 yesterday, and I wore it today all day as a neck knife. Quite cute little thing. Very well made.
They started shipping the knife January 19, so it should be available in a matter of weeks around the world.
I think it is well worth the wait, since the knife is very ergonomic, discreet (black blade), and double-edged, for easier penetration of envelopes ...

It competes in the same category as Gerber Guardian, which I also received yesterday.
In my opinion, the Swedish G1 seems a better choice, not just because I favor Swedish knives, but also because of the steel.
