Wondering if anyone has had any experience with these. I like the Odin with the stacked leather washers. Looks like a good camp knife.
Anybody have one?
Thanks
Fallkniven's are great knives.I have an F1 and an S1 and I'm always looking for more.Check out the destruction video that Noss4 did on the A1.It shows what Fallkniven knives are made of.
I have all the Northern Light series except for the Cowry-X Idun. They are very nice to use and the leather handle is great. Just put a little Kiwi Neutral shoe polish on them now and then and lightly buff with a soft cloth and watch that leather glow, not to mention smell great. (any current ir ex squaddies will know what I mean)
I've got a wm-1 (SGPS core)... Yeah, I'm a dude, with a wm-1... figure that one out. But aside from the design history of the knife and the name, I think it speaks VERY well for Fallkniven.
Last time I counted I had 26 Fallkniven. 21 are F1.
The knife I use most is the F1, followed by the U2 and the WM1.
Any Fallkniven will serve you well but be careful, you can not have only one. Eventually you end up with one of every type
If you choose the F1 or the NL5 is more or less a matter of looks. You can also buy just the blade if you want to make your own handle. Magnificent customer service.
I have heard of only three Fallkniven knives breaking. One A1 was broken on purpose by knifetests.com, the H1 broke from faulty hardening and the F1 was broken just to prove that it could be broken.
There is a Fallkniven for any purpose from EDC carry to long range expeditions through the Amazones. Then there are alot just for collecting.
I've been wanting to get an F1 and/or an S1. (leaning toward the S1) Can someone recomend a site where I could order, or a store that sells these knives at a good deal. I am lookin for just the polished satin blade ? like the pic in this thread with just a good grip. Nothing fancy - but something sturdy that can be used hard.
All but one of my Fallkniven fixed blade knives have the Kydex sheathes. One has a zytel sheath. I've not tried the Fallkniven leather sheaths.
I prefer the Kydex sheaths. They are less bulky. They look better. They retain the knife better, at least that's true with the ones I have. The zytel sheath
is hard and stiff. Kind of clunky, IMHO.
Another point, I can easily change the way the knife fits in the Kydex sheath by applying a little heat.
I don't think it would be as easy to change the Zytel sheath.

The site says the S1 only comes with a leather or zytel sheath. How did you get kydex? I had been on the site before. From what i can gather - they only ship to a couple distributors in the US, none of which were local.
There are no kydex sheaths being made anymore, only Zytel. So, you will have to find a stocking dealer or just get the cheapest version (usually leather) and get Normark to make you a Kydex sheath for it, which is by the way, head and shoulders above the original anyway.
That explains it... Knifecenter is selling for $119 US for zytel and $129 for leather. Are these the best prices for the plain S1, rubber handle or does anyone know of a better buy right now?
