Fallkniven northern lights

I have several Fallknivens, All are very confidence inspiring. No have ever given me any trouble. Most have been worked pretty hard. I rate them among my favorites.

A while ago, I sold a Tor and an Odin to generate cash for another project. I deeply regret that decision. It will cost me more, because I will be replacing them. Such is the life of a knife guy.

I still have the NL-4 it has served me well. I would really like the NL-5 Idun.

I don't judge the politics, or the warranty, just the knife. I have been very pleased with my results.
They are beautiful, tough, and built to work.

I am sure you will love your new Odin.

Lost Viking, you prompted me to buy a Ka-Bar 1317 Dog's Head, my first blade with stacked leather, and it has quickly become two. I blame you.

I accept the total blame,
And yes, you are very welcome.

I must say, they complement each other very well. Both beautiful in their own way.

Many thanks Lost Viking. I'm contemplating an Ontario Mark III just to go along with the whole vibe... Damn stacked leather.

Congrats to the Odin and great pic's!
It will be interesting to follow Your future use of the knife.
However, beware of the snake & wolf, as the Midgaardsnake & Fenriswolf are deadly enemies to Odin & Tor!

Thank you Mikael. Of the little use I've put it through thus far (cutting some branches), it preformed admirably. I think I've forgotten how incredibly well a real convex preforms.

True, though the wolves of my torc do not represent Fenris, instead it represents the bond between myself and another Ulfhednar/Asatruar. Of course, you could also look as it as Geri and Freki, Odin's two wolves.

I see now and that makes the symbols more clear.

I realise that You need more time to evaluate the properties of the new knife, but I agree about the convex geometry.
In this case, the cross-section is thin enough to cut wood reasonably well, but thick enough to throw the chips away when chopping.
In the same time, the heat-treatment works great with the steel & geometry, wich contributes to the good edgestability.

I don't have any fixed blades by Fallkniven but I do have a U1 and have just bought a PXL folder . The PXL is fantastic , so fantastic that I haven't looked at another knife for the past three weeks !

The Idun is great!
Enjoy!

Mikael, I've never seen a Fallkniven with a beautiful rosewood handle like that. Was that put on as a custom aftermarket replacement, or can one be ordered like that? I am considering the NL2.
