Fallkniven Question

You can buy Mora 2000 blades from many Swedish hobby and handycraft stores and handle them yourself. Although it might be cheaper just to strip one you already have.

I don't have a Mora 2000. I may buy one later. Can someone post links as to where I can buy these blades please. Thanks. A good selection of Mora Blanks would be great but I really want a Mora 2000 blade. I could handle a blank myself and it would be fun. If the blades are cheap I may buy a few and try them out in my free time. I would still buy a nice custom made one with beautiful micarta handles. I noticed the custom made F1's on those websites were only a little more then twice the cost of a normal F1 and they also came with a custom leather sheath. I figure somewhere there must be similar Custom Mora 2000's with Micarta handles and sheath. I'm hoping these exist for half the price of a custom F1. So instead of $230 for a custom F1 with sheath; maybe $100 for a custom Mora 2000 with sheath. Hopefully less.

So my buddy has a fallkniven S1 i think its called, he said he paid about 100 bucks for it, i really like it. I couldnt see where it was made though, the blade wasnt stamped or anything, does anybody know? I couldnt find out where on there website, i will most likely get one. Wheres the cheapest place to buy? Opinions on the blade?

I don't want another infraction for "deal spotting", but I can tell you that knifesupply and newgraham have good prices on their Fallknivens. ;)

I have written Peter at Fallkniven before, and he is very open, honest, and highly experienced. He will tell you anything you want to know about his knives. I don't see the S1 on their site anymore. Maybe, the A1 and A2 have replaced it, although you can still certainly get the S1 for about $120 or less at some places.

I speak from experience; I have the TK1 and NL3. Both are superb.

Fallkniven is indeed a Swedish company but like so many others nowdays they outsource some of their production knives to Japan. The knives are still excellent though. The high end knives are still made in Sweden IIRC. Those would be the knives named after the gods in norse mythology: Thor, Odin, Idun and so on.

My impression is that the TK1 and NL3 I have were assembled and finished in Sweden. I thought that Takefu in Japan made those laminated blades, too. That's what they're known for - that and VG10.

I think it's OK to trust the Japanese with blade steel. :)

Get a Bark River instead!

After reading my last post I thought "Wait, didn't Busse just release the Hack series that fits my small knife criteria perfectly":D Well maybe not. I really like the looks of custom blades but I want Mora 2000. Just a custom one is all:D As for Bark River I see there knives are custom quality and great for the field. I'm just not familiar with them but I will check pictures and reviews of them. I'm looking for one with a similar size and blade geometry as a F1 or Mora 2000.

Does it say on the knife that it is made in japan?
I just ordered one by the way, first fallkniven, im excited.

There's no tang stamp on these. Mine has a logo style circle on the blade that says "S1 Fallkniven Lam VG10". Nothing as to country of origin.
