Fallkniven S-1 Custom Handles

hey guys did a little weekend project on a Fallkniven S-1 Forest Knife.

Nice - the wood grain is really cool how it turned out.

Were you able to buy that blade as a blank - or did you buy the knife and cut off the handle?

Bought as a Blank and put the handles on. The handle material is Dymondwood from Jantz Supply, Black Walnut. The final pic just has a bit of oil on the blade and it brings out the color. You can get any type of color in this material and all you do after you are through is simply put some oil or sealer to bring out the colors, since the material is already dyed.
I am going to do one of our Predators next and put a Pink and Purple handle on it for my wife. I will post some pics in the next week or so of that little project. May try my hand at inlaying some jewels for her as well for the extra Bling! Really Pimp it for her. It's the only way she gets into "my knife thing". lol

I have some extremely curly bird's eye maple that I was using to make gun grips still on the shelf. I have been wanting to handle a knife with it.

Thanks, I want to do a couple more. I think I will be running a give away on one of these on campfire talks contest.
We are talking about doing a contest and having guys build custom handles on a knife blank and winner gets a Fallkniven or BRKT. Trying to further the skills and get more folks to stretch themselves.
