Fallkniven S1, good first fixed blade?

I spent the morning cutting trees and brush .The light work was done with my S-1 but it's too light to chop it's limited to slicing.So far I haven't gone to any great effort to sharpen .I just touch it up with my diamond rod and will be getting a V edge. Eventually sharpening will be done to return the convex but the VG-10 holds up well .

Instead of using a steel you can keep a ready loaded leather strop handy and touch it up on it when you feel like doing so. You won't need to remove any V shaped edge.
